Services Offered by the CSO

Job Boards and Email Groups

• Symplicity Jobs System: this is the jobs database for both alumni and students. To create a Symplicity account, and/or to get on the Symplicity email group, please contact cssec1@lawgate.byu.edu. Be sure to send an email you would be comfortable using.
• Intercollegiate Job Bank: this database contains jobs postings from other law schools around the country. There are 110+ schools that participate in the job bank. Contact the Career Services Office (801-422-3685) or cssec1@lawgate.byu.edu for the password. There is no email group for this board.

Counseling Services and Resume/Cover Letter Review

• The Career Services Office is happy to meet and counsel with alumni at any time during their careers. Contact the office to schedule an appointment.
• Alumni can email their resumes or cover letters in for critique as well. Turnaround time is normally 48 hours. Email your resume to Beth Hansen at hansenb@law.byu.edu. The subject line should read: “Resume/Cover Letter Review”.

Lectures and Seminars

• The Career Services Office has made several job-searching lectures available online at: http://www.law2.byu.edu/career_services/recordings/.

Resource Library

• Listings of career-related hardcopy resources in the Howard W. Hunter Library and Career Services Office can be found at: http://www.law2.byu.edu/career_services/info_stats/resources.php

Reciprocity Request

• We are happy to contact another law school on your behalf and request "reciprocity" which will allow you access to their career services resources. Check their websites carefully; some are more generous with their resources than others. Each alumni is allowed a request for one school.
