Disclaimer: This is the only help we can offer for Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. If you have any other questions, you are on your own.
Warning: These steps are made specifically for Microsoft Outlook 2003. Older versions of Microsoft Outlook should be very similar and Outlook Express should also be set up with the same information.
Open Microsoft Outlook. Click on: Tools -> E-mail Accounts...

Click next at the next window and it will bring you to the following screen:
Type your name in Your Name:
Type your law school address in the E-mail Address:
The Incoming mail server (POP3) should have lawmail.byu.edu The Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should have lawemail.byu.edu
User Name: you must have your email account name (usually your Route Y name)
Password: you must have your Groupwise password

Click more settings and in this dialog box click on Outgoing Server tab, then check the box My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Now click ok and finish the rest of the instructions.
Click on Test Account Settings if you are currently connected to the internet, and it will test to see if everything is correctly set up.

When you have finished filling in this information, click next, then finish.
