Jacob Strain Serves as Master of Ceremonies

Brigham Young University law student, Jacob Strain, was selected by the ABA Negotiation Competition Subcommittee to serve as the Master of Ceremonies at the Awards Banquet of the National Negotiation Competition held this February in Boston, Massachusetts. Strain is the first BYU law student to serve in this capacity. ABA representatives, including the ABA President, H. Thomas Wells, Jr., and twenty-five law schools from across the US and Canada were in attendance at the event. The ABA Negotiation Competition is the largest competition of its kind. 114 law schools from around the U.S. and Canada sent 224 teams of student negotiators to contend at the regional level. Out of these 224 teams, only 25 teams were invited to the National Competition based on their regional performance. Strain was selected by the Subcommittee for this honor due to his past experiences as a two-time regional negotiation competitor and his diligent service as the National Student Director of the Negotiation Competition.
