About Us

The Government and Politics Legal Society is organized to give law students an opportunity to explore current issues faced by attorneys in or dealing with, the public sector.

Traditionally, the society has limited its activities to organizing the State and Local Government Conference in March of each year. Nearly three hundred state, county, and city attorneys, judges, and administrators convene annually for this event. At this conference, students, academics and practitioners collectively examine pressing issues spanning the areas of civil, criminal, and political law.

The Society also organizes monthly Brown Bag luncheons and seminars during which time prominent legal practitioners share their experiences with the law school community. We feel these activities familiarize students with the number and variety of employment opportunities in government and politics, and motivates all students to become active participants in their community.
