About

The Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) is a student organization dedicated to the promotion of the public interest in the study and practice of law. PILF raises funds to support law students who wish to pursue careers in public interest law, as well as promoting public interest and pro bono legal work.

BookSale

PILF organizes a regular book sale to coordinate student buyers and sellers. PILF collects books (as well as outlines, flashcards, and other study aids) that students wish to sell at the end of each semester. PILF then holds several book sales at the beginning of each semester. PILF takes 20% of the sale price to fund scholarships for students accepting public interest externships and jobs. More

Auction

The annual PILF Auction held during Winter Semester is another major fundraising event, and it is always lots of fun. PILF collects donated items and services and then holds a live as well as a silent auction (for some of the items). If you are interested in helping out, want to donate, or would like more information about the auction, please contact the VP-Auction.

Stipends and Scholarships

The purpose of the PILF scholarships is to aid law students in their pursuit of public interest summer jobs and to make it economically possible for students to take these kind of jobs. PILF raises money through its Booksale and Auction so that it can provide these scholarships. More
