Curriculum

The purpose of the BYU Juris Doctor program is to teach students the laws of men in the light of the laws of God. It seeks to provide a rigorous and intellectually challenging legal education that prepares students to function in the wide range of activities that occupy a lawyer's professional life.

	Academic Calendar The academic calendar provides important dates for both Fall and Winter semester including: registration deadlines, add/drop deadlines, tuition due date, finals, holidays, and first/last day of class. more
	Goals and Learning Outcomes Consistent with the Aims of a BYU Education, it strives to be spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, and character building, leading to lifelong learning and service. more
	Externships BYU Law School's externship program is designed to provide a real-life "capstone" experience for students completing their first two years of law study. In addition to having one of the largest student participation rates, BYU Law School also has one of the largest international externship programs. more
	Graduation Requirements BYU law students are required to complete 90 credit hours before graduation, including the nine required first-year courses. They must also prepare a substantial paper and fulfill a professional skills requirement. more
